Steve Irwin 1962-2006.... Doing what He Loved!!!

I was trying to decide what kind of suitable tribute I could design for such a well regarded and sometimes insane person... The Crocodile Hunter was undescribable to anyone who has never seen him on TV. This is the one time I find that a Picture would not speak the 1000 words of description. It's truly impossible to know what he was like without seeing video. He did untold volumes of good, teaching all peoples of all ages. We learned something new with every show, every new adventure he took us on... He was a fantastic showman. If you were walking through a room and you heard his voice, you HAD to stop and look.... Just to see what insanity he was doing and what animal he was doing it with

I learned a lot from him, as did my kids... he will be missed by millions of people.....

I guess you could say we all learned something from Steve Irwin. The trouble is, I already knew that while sting rays are usually beneign creatures but can be dangerous. In my younger days , when I did a lot of scuba diving, I had a n agreement with sharks, rays, stonefish and lionfish. Look, but don't touch.

He felt like the good friend I never met. He had a very interesting, educational, clean show... Something you don't find very often these days.

I usually didn't watch wildlife documentaries because I found them boring... I could barely stifle a yawn when long-lens footage of some animal walking around in the distance with some quiet narration in the background bores me to tears or puts me to sleep.

Then Steve Irwin came along and I was HOOKED. This guy treats conservation and documentary filming like it was an extreme sport. No doubt his refreshing approach made many indifferent people out there like me sit up and take notice, educating us about wildlife in a way that is entertaining at the same time.

RIP Steve-o. He was a bloke who made a difference.
