I'd like to show my progress of the last few weeks since I started to build John Armstrongs "Granite Gorge and Northern".
I' m a slow builder, I don't have much time for modelrailroading, but intend to post progress if it is made.
The trackplan is 7' 6" by 3' 10" and scale is N.
First the slightly modified trackplan:

Now a few pics of the cookie cutter thing:

That is all for now.
I am building this board in an old unheated shed and hope to move the board in the trainroom in the house within a few weeks( first I have to make room for the board).

WooHoooo

Fab trackplan Paul! ... Heaps of operating possibilities and multi train running.
I like cookie cutter bases too, tends to simplify building up scenery.
Hope you enjoy wiring ... :) . (it's the best part of modelbuilding :D )
Just a thought.... if you send your wife to her mother's place you can take over a nice comfy livingroom for the layout :D :D .

You've made a good, well-thought-out start.
Keep the pics of progress coming.

Will always be re-membered
A very busy layout Paul. Should keep you hopping.
Any thought to what industries it will serve?

Remember...it's for fun!
Nice! Your pics look just like those in articles I see in Model Railroader!

Thanks again for nice comments.

Robin, the industries it will serve:
a sawmill, a small logging area, a kaolin plant and a small paper mill.Of course there is a small yard with a team track and a little town with a passenger shelter ,where an RDC can pickup the workers and transport them to the different industries.
