Don't pull that out in public, you could get charged with brandishing a firearm, even though it's fake, it's that convincing!! :)

for cutting small holes I use this tool - just as a small tip to get the holes a little bit more exact
I was going to mention using punches for holes. Those leather punches are good as long as your piece isn't bigger than the throat.
You can get really cheap set of individual hole punches too which are also great.
Of course, the punched out discs make great rivets e.t.c.... A two-in-one tool. That's a win for me. :)
