SR-71 Blackbird; MP Model; 1/33

I think your model looks great. Plastic from the inside from "blister packaging" is great for windows. ;)

The problem you encountered with the wings and formers is that since you did not go edge to edge with the skins and used tabs, there was going to be a mismatch. If you use tabs, you have to cut out that shape into the formers to get a proper fit. This is called accrued intolerance. The model still looks great though, and we all learn from the previous model we make, so it's all good. ;)

I don't understand what you mean? If you designed a SR-71, wouldn't you just fix it in your virtual model? Just curious.

I just looked at some Hi Rez pics of the SR-71. There is a section where the tiles are offset, just like the pic you posed. Pic below. Maybe you did do it right? You tell me. Make the picture full size, you just see the panel lines change. Methinks that you both got it right. My 2 cents worth.

:animated:Your right, That comes from my own lack of knowledge of the plane, lol!!! But I did make some real life prototypes, and at some point I had a offset in the SAME area!!! but your model is SICK! sorry for my silliness. :)

There is a picture that was on display at the NMotUSAF taken from the C, of another Blasckbird at Mach 3 and 80,000 feet. Blue sky below, and black space above, and you could see 4 shock diamonds in the exhaust flow. That is the picture I need to find and save.

The last post before showing the finished model.
For the landing gear I used wheels purchased along with the model. I painted the backs to look like the originals with aluminum color.
Otherwise, the landing gear, although it may not look like it at first glance, is relatively simple to assemble.
I would like to take this opportunity to show the skin of the vertical rudders which, as you can see, have the wrong tail art...
And the final piece to apply to the nose.

The model is ready. Not everything went perfectly but I still think the model looks beautiful. Well, I hope you like it.
