Some pictures to help you with a stormy backgound

Wow, great photos Chris. Looks like the stormy weather on the prairies. I have lived in Manitoba and Saskatchewan and remember seeing storm like these. Ahh to be back in big sky country again.

:thumb: Chris...Those are exceptional pictures !!! Have you thought about entering them in a photo contest somewhere ? Maybe at least send them in to a photo magazine or something. Thanks.

Hi Dick,, These pictures were sent to me from an old friend in Vancouver.

I wish I had the credit for them, or could give the photographer the credit He/She deserves.

Them's is some doozies of storms!!! Twister movie eat ya heart out!!

All ya need now, is a couple of GP-9's and a few box cars swirling round in the sky!!! Gotta upstage the movie and that damn cow that went flying past!! hehehehehehe :thumb:

Those are spectacular pictures. :thumb: I'm always astounded when I see the edges of a storm - rounded swirls of pure energy. Any feedback on the camera equipment used in the photos?

Chris, it's funny, but my daughter sent me the same series of pictures (in the form of a Powerpoint-presentation) a few weeks ago. They are really great! :thumb:

Now this thread rang a bell and so I went into my archives. And indeed, I found one more pic, which I photographed in the Swiss Alps - it looks almost like the smoke plume of a volcanic eruption! Paint such a cloud on a backdrop, and every visitor will explain you that clouds like this one simply don't exist! :D :D :D

Of course there's no such thing like volcanoes in the Alps, but this afternoon we sure had one hell of a thunderstorm! And this cloud was only a precursor of much more to come (torrents of rain and hail enough to do some skiing on it...)
