BTW..In the 55 years I been in the hobby I only met one modeler that modeled the WP in the silver/orange scheme.

They're certainly out there, and Walthers and Athearn sure seem to like the old Silver and Orange in HO. In fact, the past few years has been a GREAT time to be a WP modeler!

Funny, my boxcar is just opposite... silver on orange. It's n scale though and I bought it at my LHS about a year ago.

WP 707 hit the mainline in 2004 for the WP Historical Society's annual convention. Seen here at Ronda, ex-WP trackage between Winnemucca and Gerlach Nevada.

Quite honestly, I have to plead ignorance on this one. I was pawing my way through drawers of boxcars and came across this one and snapped it up. Not much help... sorry. I'll clean out my desk and be gone by the morning.:mrgreen:

Both box cars paint schemes are correct.

WP 707 is a GP7 while WP 2001 is the first production model GP20. WP numbered them by their horse power, the GP20's that is.

Here is a frontal view of 2001 taken in 2003.

IIRC I grabbed this shot from the adjacent track while switching at the museum.
