Shows scheduled for the Phoenix area

Well glad to hear I saved myself $5. I did however miss out on meeting two new Gaugers and for that I am sorry. It was just one of those days where you wake up and you realize you better spend some time with the family instead of taking off spending money on trains! We ended up going down to the Arizona Science Center instead where they had construction day with some very realistic 1:1 displays outside...

Sorry we didn't make it. We had planned to be in Phoenix but didn't make it. To much going on lately
Just to let you all know, our club will be setting up displays at the Prescott Resort on Dec 1 for the day. If you haven't seen the world's largest Gingerbread display and plan to, that would be the day to do it.
 
Well I didn't end up leaving empty handed. I picked up an $18 Athearn PS2 Cement hopper for $10 and an SP GSC Flat for $5 bucks from one guy. Also some neon signs a guy was selling b/c I thought it would be neat to have and some guys from the N-trak club I got 4 cars for $9 and had a nice chat with them for a while. So all in all it was worth it and I probably would have spent more if I didn't have to consider luggage space in my bag.

I have this habit of scoping out the place first and then coming back for what I want. I was great meeting more gaugers though which was a big reason for coming to the show. I previously knew Bob (Shaygetz) whom was in the same club as I when I was stationed in Florida and introduced me to The Gauge. Then I met Papa Bear at a show down there a couple times. One of these days I'd like to meet Ralph whenever I make it back up to the twin cities.

Well, that's one of the reasons for going to these things anyway, to meet people. It was good meeting with you Jacob, no matter how brief.

Ray, sorry you couldn't make it, but I truly understand. I thought you might have been there so I looked down under all the tables...sign1 sign1 sign1 sign1 Nope, didn't find you or Tony at your regular spots. Man, what bargains under there, a shame there was nothing there in N scale.... the same as on top...:cry: :cry: For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about, Ray and his son can find some outstanding buys that are sitting in boxes under the tables, you just go to be willing to look... and make offers...:thumb: :thumb:

This coming Saturday, Feb 23, there is the swap meet at the Armory out in Papago Park. Who's planning on going? It's not a very big one, Woodone and I went last year, and I don't remember buying anything or staying longer than an hour. Still, I like going to even the smaller ones, just in case there's something worth seeing or spending a few bucks on, plus I get to meet people and fellow Gaugers.:thumb: :thumb:

Jerry, if you're going, I can drive this time, you drove us up to the one in Prescott the last time.
