About a year ago I started a thread with this title with very good results. that was then this is now. There are new people on here who might wish to share and they may be inspired by the rest of us. so here we go.I will start this thing going.

Here's sort of a representative picture. My layout's overall theme is Penn Central but I've created a freelanced railroad (The Kings Port & Western) to interchange with it. My first attempt at a freelance scheme was the blue box car with orange letters but the orange looked faded. I then created the orange and black with the NY state map logo. A river barge loaded with aggregate is in the foreground.

Can you tell us more about it? Where does it go, what do you run on it. It look interesting and steep.

kent, the grade you see is for a shortline,J&M. it is a rr that operates on a shoe string. it is one day from going broke.it rise about a foot and a half. levels off for a short distance wher it has a small yard. it then rises at about the same grade to six feet plus. so that I can walk under it. I desired a grade that would allow 2 cars and bobber caboose maximum. and that is what I have. the only power is a 3 truck shea which is almost too big you must be careful in some turns.here are some pics most show grades

My favorite Stuff, toptrain1

My favorite railroads are The CNJ and the Pennsylvania RR. In Pennsy my favorite locomotive is the HIPPO 2-10-0 decapod. The photo is of my Cary conversion decapod. It has a Cary boiler and details with a Penn-Line Drive. The CNJ locomotive is my old Mantua Cast and Brass Pacific. A locomotive from the late 1940's.

old mantua pacific

This CNJ pacific was made in the late 40's and early 50's. In the Gallery I have photo albums on both my CNJ and PRR locomotives and other trains.

A Factory painted Mantua camelback 0-6-0 of a type the CNJ had alot of.

top train I know very little of Central New Jersey RR. but a friend once told me that CNJ and Jersey Central were 2 different roads. Is he correct?

Great pictures. Thank you Les. I'm assuming loads from train cars are dumped from this spur into trucks. Is this correct? I'm not sure I used the proper terms but I am still trying to learn them. I can't wait to start my layout. I will put in a scene like this.
