shortest doobdlebug?

oh good, so mines a big box motor then. finshed shortening it today (and shock of shocks it worked) but it was so short i had to take the flywheel off th motor to clear the pivot of the trailing bogie.
Its about 42ft long now!

Passenger equipment, even on interurbans, could be as short as the 35-40 foot range--and trolleys, of course, could get very short indeed (gotta love those single-truck Birneys!) while box motors, while shorter, were strictly for freight.

I think there is some precedent for short gas-powered doodlebugs in the 40-50 foot range. And of course there are those Athearn Hustler body shells for a four-wheel single-truck doodlebug!

well here they are, the first boxcab, albeit not finished - the boys at the electrical shop havent been able to get their hands on her to convert her to electric power as she has been pressed into service was no other boxcabs are available and the lines OHL maintenance car and directors car W. Wayland.

no, not yet. might have found a source though. Compnay over here called DC Kits. They are currently making what in Britian was referred to as a Class 71 which was a third rail/overhead & diesel powered locomitve used on the Southern lines. That uses a suitable type of panto im just looking into if i can get the panto alone as a spare part.
