You start precise, and you end precise. Excellent how you lead by example. :)

The 1:16 scale has become my favourite due to the level of details possible in this scale

Working on the frame, most ov it done now, so a couple of evenings and it should be done

I like the bigger models for the same reason. To be honest, there are a few models that I would like to make some parts out of aluminum in my machine shop, and wood, and of course paper. I am not a paper purist. I am actually thinking of making a 1.5 foot tall English Wheel, to be able to make some fenders, and edges to give these models the compound curves they deserve. It would have to heat treat the wheels and radii anvil wheels, to make it last, but the framework for such a device would be extremely easy to weld together. I have some form tools that would allow me to cut various radii into the forming anvil wheel, and the top wheel an be a plain needle bearing. Have to finish my cars and house before I can play around with anything!! :)

Springs

There are 8 of theese. Straight forward construction...just a bit time consuming :)
One spring done, 7 to go :)
My silly question is this, How did you make the coil spring "effect"?

If you take steel wire (only works on steel), and tie one end, very securely, and pull on the other end (atttached to a wooden dowel, so you don't cut your fingers), you need like 4 feet to do this effectively, the wire will after pulling very hard, "stretch", and then harden. When you then wrap the wire, it will be an actual spring. Makes for great antennae's too. :)
