Scratchbuilt trucks

I recently found some drawings for some rolling stock and would like to know if someone could tell me to build the trucksand couplers or how do I go about picking out the right ones from the Walther's catalogue. I think I would prefer making them though.

Jim,

You could try scratchbuilding trucks, but really, for the effort required, you're not going to have anything that rolls as well as the pre-built ones you can get from Walthers.

As for what to pick, if you've got the plans for the rolling stock, they should give some indication of the trucks used. Depending on the size and era of the car, there are different trucks to choose from.
