[scratch 1/72] 'Gondola veneziana' Papercard step by step

Here is one of my latest model : a venitian gondole made of papercard (99%) and miscellaneous from stain, lead, and plastic...

I do a first test in posting, because I previously failed.

Here the finished model, and in a forthcoming one, a fast 'step-by-step'...

Well, I post now, and hope it will be OK!

OK, it runs!

So, as I promised, a 'step-by-step' post...
The complete building took 2 days.

I first reduce a plan from 1/32 scale to 1/72 scale.

Than, I draw it on a card, and began to cut, glue, paint, etc.

Some defaults had been corrected with some 'glue'.

Then I began to paint : acrylic paintings, for artists.

The carpets are made of stain sheet : it's easy to curve and mould over the shape of the hull.

This part is made of a two-paste' blend, and will receive the oar: and under it, you see a peace of lead which will serve for building seats and arms of seat.

Copper bars over the carpet are made of plastic sticks:

The typical figurehead of the gondoles : simply in card, painted silver.
Then completed with the 'two-paste' blend...

And the same thing to the poop:

The row : a plastic stick and some thread ...

The bride and groom figures are from PREISER (Germany) , the 'gondoliere' is a modified sailor (from a 1925 zeppelin crew).

I replaced his 'sailor's head' with a 'boater hat head', made a stain ribbon, and shorten his torso , bent it on the legs and placed the cut arm in a good position.

Now, imagine you see them from one of the numberless bridges of Venice...

I shall post the making of my trawler.
I precise that it is a small one, always scaled in 1/72, is around 50 cm long, and 98% made of papercard.
