I tried some heavier weathering on this Bachman coil car. Acrylic paint and artist chalks created the mess. :)

I have used ink wash with some success. I like that method too. Here's another rust bucket that I wasn't going to post because I thought I overdid it. Then the other day I saw a real Soo Line covered hopper that looked WORSE! I have to laugh at myself because the photo reveals that I forgot to weather the trucks ! :rolleyes:

Dang Ralph, it looks like you had some caustic soda spill down the sides.

As for the trucks, well, the railroad had to replace them because they were too corroded.:thumb: :D

Thats a fine job you did on that coil car. I especially like how you handled that faded green paint scheme. Nice job.
