Railfanning the RLK&T

You are out railfanning on the Reading Lackawanna Kensington & Trenton and you catch a local freight rolling past the machine shop. It is lead by an IHC Reading Mikado.

The locomotive is followed by a CNJ steel boxcar and a Rutland wood boxcar.

Next comes a New Haven wood boxcar

Next comes a Lehigh Valley wood boxcar

 

[TomPM]

Followed by a Hershey’s wood reefer

 

[TomPM]

You are now passed by another CNJ steel boxcar

And lastly comes a LNE steel boxcar and a Reading caboose.

All the boxcars and reefers are custom painted cars made from Athearn blue box undecorated kits. The Reading caboose was made by Mantua.

I can see that string of excellent looking freight, with a D&H caboose on one end, and a D&H Challenger on the lead.
If you're ever out to Chicago, bring that with you. I know a club layout where it can run.
