Question

I have my men set working on installing centers so the yard towers can know what is in the yards, so my question is this;

Do they really lay cable or something for the yard towers to monitor what is in the yard or were the train is on the mail line?

Probably depends on what period you're talking about - I imagine the monitoring was mostly done by a good set of eyeballs until fairly recently. And maybe even later, just with closed circuit TV!
