I really enjoy this hobby but, I do everything I can to keep it a low priority in my life. As a minister of the Gospel, it's importance to me ranks somewhere between wondering what Britney Spears is doing lately and knowing Barbara Steisand's opinion on a political issue.

This morning I was reminded of what is important to me as my wife was driving to church this morning. Our beloved battlewagon fulfilled its first duty--protecting my wife and children. No one was seriously hurt and the kids weren't in the car at the time.

Any concerns over future of Athearn and whether or not Atlas' latest release has an accurate paint scheme grew even dimmer this morning.

Bob, I am thankful that your wife did not get hurt, and that you or the children were not involved, the car didn't seem to fair to well though, but it's replaceable. God does work in mysterious ways, for that I am grateful.
 
Yep, Bob.. As an Accident survivor, I absolutly agree - There are many more important things than Model RRing. :) Unfortunatly some times people take for granted what the Good Lord has let us have :(

Always glad to see the vehicle being the only thing "hurt" :) :)

Best of luck in getting the "Battlewagon" repaired or replaced as needed.

I sure am glad to hear the wife is OK! Whew!
I know what you mean about those little turns in our everyday lives...(& they can come in a split second)...that give us perspective...to remind us about what matters, & what doesn't.

The Good Lord was with you & yours today, my friend!
 
Something like that accident DOES remind us of the important things. I'm glad your wife is OK. Hobbies are one of the blessings of our lives but certainly not as significant as family. Amen to that!

Oh, by the way, last time I saw Britney she made a brief appearance on "Fareneheit 9/11" . Haven't heard much about Barbara. :)

Bob,Glad to hear that your love one was not hurt...I fully believe God has Guardian Angles watching over us drawn from my own past experiences of close calls and and past accidents..
In 1998 I had a light heart attack and while I was hookup to oxygen and monitors I realize how foolish it is to worry over needless things.So,I have a different outlook on life and no longer worry about things the way I use to be it in life or hobby.Life is to short and precious to worry about needless and sometimes foolish things.
 
Accidents do happen unfotunately but I am happy that nobody got hurt in this one.
Even though model railroading is a lower priority it is great to have something to turn to when you need a break.
 
Amazing what an accident can do to your perspective on life.I'm so glad there were no injuries in your accident.
 
Durned sorry about the car and all the shock and strees that musta come along with it. TG no physical injuries. Don't feel bad about spending your resources modeling; remeber the Sabbath. You have to work Sundays, so you have to get your day of rest where ever you can. You are into the hobby for a reason... Your right, of course, familly first ;) Glad yer OK!!!
 
Bob. Like all the previous posts' I am glad that the Lord was looking out for everybody and nobody was injured. We live about 20 miles from the nearest town of any size and it is all two lane. When we first moved to Esparto, Ca. in 1998 the indians were in the process of building a casino in Cash Creek. Then they expanded. In 1998 between Woodland and Esparto we were lucky if we met 12 - 15 cars. Now we meet over 100 cars and a lot of crazy drivers. One spot, where the hiway crosses over Interstate 505, it is a death trap as people coming off the freeway forget to stop at the stop sign and more than once I have had to make an emergancy stop, even though I have the right of way.
For some reason the Lord has given me a sixth sence when a car is not going to stop and I am prepared for it. That has saved us many times. :thumb: :thumb:
 
Thank you again, guys. Miss M is doing well but has been warned by her doctor that the real pain starts tomorrow. The blessing God has given me is that I work and live on site so I'm able to check up on her thru the day. I know what you mean, Dick. Santa Rosa County is one of the fastest growing in the country, leaving Hwy. 98 aptly nicknamed "The Miracle Strip". Just last week I pasted three similar wrecks in the space of ten miles on the way to the clubhouse.
 
Doosie of a smash there Shaygetz......glad the Ms. is OK. The car appears to have seen its better days.
