This is a fantastic card model of Optimus Prime from the Transformer film series.






The first part to be made was the head.

Next, the torso was made. To give an idea of the size, the universal scale measure is shown (tin of beans!)

Now come the arms.

After the arms are attached, it's beginning to take shape!

The feet were next to be made and here are the lower parts of the feet.

Now the legs are completed.

And finally, the finished model.

Wow, this is incredible! Congratulations on a cool robot!

However, I suppose the scale is 1:8 and not 8:1 ... :mrgreen:

Agree with RF on the scale issue...
How long have you spent building it? Where did you find it? Do you have the build pics? How 'bout a thread on it?

About 3 months. Sorry, no build diary but here is the system that I found to work for me.

First thing was to print and cut out all the parts for a section.

The head was built as one complete assembly.

For the rest of the sections, small sub-assemblies were built and when dry, they were painted with white glue diluted 10%. This brought out the colour amazingly and also sealed the card for spraying.
The sub-assemblies were then sprayed with a light coat of clear lacquer from an aerosol can and when dry and cured, were glued together with thick gap-filling CA.

The legs were originally built moveable but due to balance problems, once the whole model was assembled, they were glued in place. The head, arms and torso were left removeable to allow transportation to the model club.
