Hello Again :)
I must admit that I didnt want to set any thread until he will be finished but becouse of lack of motivation here it is ;)
I started building Prime from paper-replika.com about november 2012 as relaxation model (it means that I'm not tottaly into quality ect.)
Here is what I made:

As You see only parts that I have to make are legs and fingers... so please support me ;)

It looks to me that you are off to a GREAT START!!!
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!
I (for one) would REALLY LIKE to see you finish this project!!!
 
Bgt01 actually for me this is more like hmm... glueing toy. Simple, large but i dont think of him as "model". But afcourse thank You very much and I hope I will show final results as soon as possible :)
 
ah...a nice size model.

he looks great...did you do something special with him?...
lights...action..uh moveable things, fingers, arms or extra greeble-ing ?

Very nice. what is the height when ready?
 
Dnalor I didnt do anything special. I must say that he have potential for beeing something more than papercraft toy but my goal was to build him quick, cheap, easy and without any special complications :) About his height... well I dont know. I think it will be about 1-1,2 meter.
 
@JanMarciniak A quick question. I see the templates are US Letter and therefore printing on A4 is not a problem.
But, what paper weight did you use, or would you recommend, for this beast?
Have you encountered any template fit/alignment issues or anything with your build???
 
Dan to tell You truth I user only 80 msg paper and "butapren" (sorry I dont know how this glue type is called in other coutries). What paper weight I woulde sugest? Well it depends on result You want to achieve but for some highend job I woulde use 250msg paper and 1mm cardboard (plus different glues, putties etc.)
About issues:
1st. I hate style that all round parts have been designed I'm cutting all those connecting teeth and glue round parts edge to edge and I have better results but they are still far away from being perfect.
2nd. Those cheek/intake parts are preety messed up and needs little of self creativity (I just throw away inner parts) 3rd. Conneting parts of anckle and calf doesnt fit right- there is about 1cm ugly gap with connecting white color visible.
There are also smaller bugs but in this scale they just getting blured.
 
Ok, thanks for the info. The model still looks robust enough on 80 gsm paper though. I'm sure you laminated for strength where needed?
Anyway, the build looks great.

I didnt lamineted or impragnated paper. After complition it will be covered with glossy clear automotive paint (real one not those supermarket spray paint) it shoulde do the trick with reenforcing construction. I have to order large showcase.
