Thanks fer lookin'.. The Next Challenge is: your OLD STUFF!!!!!!

It all started when I had too much time on my hands.......

I was asked to put my Ugly Mug on a forum:

And I was also asked why No O gauge

It occured to me that we have a Huge amount of members here now:

So Lets see your Old Work, YES ! the First Layouts You All built Or helped build or Run!!!!!! That's the only rules it has to be the first or the second!! And hopefully it'll be "old" :) :)
 
Of course I HAVE to but my "Neck on the block" first :D :D :D

This was new in 1982 it's HO The Mountain is 8 Ft long
The Blue box is my idea of Tethered control, All direction and switches were wired in to a 20 ft long cable.

This was new in 1983 it's HO and the Turntable is in it's new position. The Mountain is gone, we decided it wouldn't work :)
The Wire mentioned below is the phone wire curving upward to the Left of the green line that marked the end of the mountain. (Overspray) :)

I was also the only one out of the 3 of us that understood the tethered control. :) The blue line is the trolly - it had a wire that ran upstairs to a relay triggered by computer to have it run & stop at different times around the perimeter of the layout.

Now for the Second One: We tore down the HO & built the N gauge (This is how I got my Moniker) :)

First you start with nothing:

Here are a couple of shots of the railroad I shared with my older brother back in the mid sixties. He built the table and laid the track when I was nine. Then he went in the service and I scenicked it. These pictures were taken when I was fifteen. In the lower right of the horizontal photo is a tower made from part of a Lionel pipe unloading accessory I thought looked like a tower for a hump yard I had seen in a photo.

WOW great old photos!!


Well I won't post a pic of my (dads) layout here as I don't have any 'old' photos of it and *I* didn't build it, but he built it in the 1950's before I was born. It hasn't had much done to it since then but I will change that one day, there's a pic of it in the face with a name thread.

My first layout in N-Scale: The Trim Creek Southern

Two pictures - before and after:

Before:
Basic benchwork finished, track on the left half is laid. The whole right half with the two holding tracks will be covered by the main station (Trim Creek).
In the foreground: First attempts in scenery making (hardshell with plaster-soaked paper towels.
