Glad you could join us! Thanks for a glimpse at the layout! I like your rock formations under the trees in the second pic and those hills in the corner of the last one. I'm trying to make out what that large dark formation is behind the station near the water tower?

Well I have been using the Trains.com forum but I like this one better. One question how hard and Expensive is converting into DCC? I don`t think I need it because I don`t have much track.
I bought Bachmans DCC system for 120$ with the entire DCC system and two decoder equiped locos. The set is just the right size for your layout I think. You can buy it without locos and travk cheaper. I needed a 5 amp booster but I have a bigger layout. It all depends on what you want.
Oh yea, it is still great even if you have little track, its very fun to operate different trains seperately. (always room for expansion!!:mrgreen
Well I live in Canada and with the dollar at a all time high I SHOULD be getting it at a chepper price. Then again we still pay more for cards and books.
Nice beginning of your layout. If you have any questions this is the place, they've helped me out plently of times.
Dcc is nice but it isn't a nessesity. I'm still running regular old DC and am pretty happy with it.Evetually I'll probably convert but it you're just running one train at a time Dcc might not be worth it.
However if you do decide to jump into it:
Depending on how close you live to the US border you could drive across and pick one up. My wife and I do two big cross-border shopping trips each year and save alot of everything from groceries to hobby supplies.

Well I know 80% of canada lives 150km from the U.S boarder. I am one of that 20% who does not. I live in Northern Alberta and my City only has one hobby shop, which is sadly getting ride of their train stuff.:cry: I can go to Edmonton Alberta which has 6 hobby shops that sell train iteams. Hobby wholesale seems to be the best inexpensive way to buy hobby supplies. They will have DCC systems and could tell me how they work.
