Need ID on Lionel ? Lens ?

Hi all!
Just got ahold of a box lot of Lionel stuff. This lens was floating on the bottom, I don't recognise it. Is it Lionel ? What's it for ? Searchlight ?

If I was betting man I would say they don't go to trains at all. The first thing that came to mind when I saw it was that it was a license plate light off an older style vehicle. I have a few of these some were in a box and they look just like yours. One of mine has the metal visor and the other don't. If you look at the pics I posted you can see the clips on back are pretty close to the same as yours.
