My Next Project

I was going to say it reminded me of one of the ships from "battle beyond the stars" but I guess not.

Hello,

This is interesting to me as I must have drawn ten thousand spaceships growing up. Joe Johnston and Ron Cobb were hero's!

Does your friend still enjoy drawing and Sci-Fi?

Kind Regards,

Cris

Cris,

Sadly, no. During a rough spot about 25 years ago he set his art aside. The worse part was that at that time, he threw out most everything he had created; including drafting six views of almost every ship he had created to that point.

Next pass...looks good, except for the join from the hull to the engine compartment....

This is turning into quite an interesting project.
It reminds me of something that would have come out of a 1960's or 1970's Sci-Fi.
I am very curious on how this will turn out.
I will be following this thread.

As the drawing was done in 1981, you're right on the money as far as timeline is concerned....alpha complete....a lot of errors to fix...

Well, I looked at a lot of different textures, and ended up designing my own using the tutorial I posted some time ago.

Here we go....

Sure looks a lot better with this next layer going on. We talked about that model of mine and about it needing a second texture to facilitate construction. This is really giving me some ideas. Great thought process going on there. I like the texture too. :)
