hey all
As promised heres some of the stuff ive been working on while ive been dealing with my ongoing health fun. Bit of a mixed bag, couple of papercraft/scratch builds in there too. Enjoy :toast:
Az
First up we have the MW4 Marauder - quite a large model (about 30cm tall) with distinctive yellow camouflage. I added a cpl small details (white hip armour, white fins, some touch ups and nose art etc)
20231121_155146.jpg
Next up is the Narn Cruiser from Babylon 5, bit fiddly but came together well, nice subject to build. Im placing all of the various ships im working on in frames to tie them in as you will see.

20231201_143916.jpg
then we have another Babylon 5 subject - a Shadow battlecrab - i started with a papercraft kit i found but found the model too small and flimsy so i scratch built a bigger one from foam board. Came out about 40cm across, touched up with black acrylic and varnished, also textured the whole surface with scrunched up paper to give the more creepy look they have (if you know you know lol) Some of the builds i do are suggestions from my partner (she has a good eye)
20231201_143939.jpg
then lastly (at the moment) is another scratch build/suggestion from the missus - a Borg cube from Star Trek. There are a cpl small models out there, reasonably simple, well, cubes, so i thought about doing something a little more 'layered' - This is foam board, card, grey board with printed surface textures, about 15cm across.

So there you have it so far, a very mixed bag. Im hoping to do a 'puddlejumper' from SG Atlantis next, then onto an Expanse build.
Hope you like em, cheers for now
Az

These look great! You have done a really good job on these projects!
Thankyou, sometimes it takes me a bit to get everything photographed/finished etc with my circumstances being what they are, but i tend to get there eventually lol :toast:

I wholeheartedly understand. At times, it is difficult to get that "perfect" photo, especially if you have any kind of distractions (and you have forgotten to take a photo of a certain thing or step, and you move on to the next). Just keep at it. You will get better in time.

This is a very nice collection! I love the Narn ship and the Borg cube. The layering gives it a more substantial feel. Several years ago I found another cube model on the SketchUp Warehouse which follwed a similar technique. It's on my todo list to unfold and release it.

So here it is, the little Puddlejumper shuttle from SG Atlantis. The model is only about 20cm long/10/15cm wide. Its a single page PDF file with great detail, you can model it with the drive pods open or closed. The original kit was made by a guy called Martin Sanger over at PaperAviation.de - i think i found it purely by chance via google. Anyway hope you like the finished article, another to go with my growing mixed collection lol.

You did a great job on this project.
I have built this model a few times before. A matter of fact, this was one of the first models that I greebled out, by printing out additional parts sheets and raising the details.

tbh i never even thought about it, i may have to try that at some point, its a very well laid out kit that would lend itself to greeblying lol. I think at the moment with clearing workspace, health stuff and lining up future projects my eagerness runs faster than my capabilities these days lol :hammerhead:

You've nailed the exterior of the Puddle Jumper. Now all we need is an interior to complete the model. Yous looks fantastic!! :)

A nice selection of ships and machines, the Marauder looks like something my brother built years ago in plastic form, possibly Bandai/Hasegawa?

there were/are a selection of those kits in plastic from some of the many manga/anime and or games that come out from the region. I remember Mech Warrior as a computer game and Battletech as a tabletop game but did not realise there were sooooooo many mechs - ive done a couple and my youngest built a gundam before he passed (he loved scifi/anime etc) and ive got a selection in card to build down the line.
