So, early February I packed up all my projects. Mid-FEB, my wife and I closed on a new house and started moving. A month later, I'm sorta on my way to getting a new work area set up. Just sorta... I'm still in boxes with a lot of my resources, but I did manage to put my cutting mat down on my work table again and keep the space generally clear of clutter this weekend. Once I get through fixing my models that broke on the move, I should be able to start something new again. No promises though, as my kids all have loads of activities this time of year.

Further on the bad news side, we have a confirmed case of COVID 19; and exposure protocols in the works, locally. Mandatory time off might happen in the near future...

...which could lead to time to build stuff in my basement. Hopefully such is not the case! Like the flooding last year, this would not be a good way to get time off!

It sounds like a chore...in fact when I moved to this place 23 years ago...my stuff was put in the smallest room in the house 10x14, of course, the women got HUGE rooms 20x25 etc.. Working 12-hour shifts, and everything else, I never unpacked till I retired (medical) back in 2012...
But on the bright side...the kid moved out and the wife took off, so now I got it all to myself!! I am also so far from civilization, I'm not worried too much about outbreaks, apocalypse or zombies...but Good Luck to the rest of you out there!

So, a quick overview of my new work area...

Still a work in progress, but hey, I'm pretty happy with how much I could unpack. Not sure on the square footage though...

But I'll be sharing my build space with my Lulzbot Taz 5 3D printer: 20200313_233523.jpg

Right next to my computer:

My shelves filled quickly with stuff:

...stuff I've bragged about here, and stuff I've had a while you all might not have seen yet...

Congrats on the new home!

I just moved and had a hot water heater burst, destroying most of my paper model collection, within the first month.

Word to the wise; check the heater and other ways your kits could be compromised. I still haven't recovered all that I have lost!

Again, congrats!

Thank you.

What a shame to hear about the heater! I've been keeping eye on moisture levels in my basement given the rain we've been getting... But I will certainly add watching that heater to the list (along with the usual water supply and drain lines...).
