Hi Woodie,
The above photo's were taken using a very cheap digital, not my 35mm, however I use flourescent daylight tubes rated at 58watt, I have them on my ceiling spaced at 18" intervals. Once the photo has been taken,(Digital) I save it as a bitmap first.
I then go into Paintshop pro and use the re-size, and save as a jpeg, keeping the original in tact. then I use - brightness/contrast - Red green & Blue to put the slight yellow cast this digital puts out back to normal and then sharpen the photo.
here's two, before & after

Shamus,

Thanks for the offer. I tried a few of the layout pics. The results were:

Junelayout05.JPG

THis is "before"

adjust03.JPG

and this is "after".

The shot is where the flash didn't go off.

The photo software I have can change brightness, contrast, gamma, colour saturation and hue, focus etc. The above took me about 10 mins to do, working out which button did what!

I just used the .JPG at 75 DPI (web resolution). I'll try scanning the pics again, at a higher resolution.

All layout pics are at http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~niceboys/layout1.htm

TOOT!

and another:
Junelayout02.JPG

Before

adjust04.JPG

After.

It's a problem with no focus ability (elcheapo camera) and the bright flash close up. I'll need to get a decent camera!

TOOT!

Woodie,
Try placing a thin cloth over the flash to defuse it a little. If I take a photo outside with my 35mm camera, I use flash for fill in but I always put a thin cloth over it.
cheers

Nice shots, guys!

Shamus, have you considered changing the name of your railroad to "Beaver Creek"? You've been as busy as a beaver with this undertaking, and the results are truly magnificent.

Just watch out for the "Tree Huggers", as some call the environmentalists!

George.

Shamus,

Tried the cloth (paper tissue) over the flash this arvo. And also moved the layout (yep..... it's movable, but only just) into the sunshine coming in the back window. Took some piccies. Getting then developed today and picking them up tomorrow. I'll see how your suggestions work out.

TOOT!

George,
Beaver ? Oh no, then I would have to change all my little Badgers I have everywhere.

Woodie,
The best photo's taken outdoors, is without direct sunlight as it can burn out a photo. I try and take photo's outdoors on my small module when the day is over cast, using the flash with filter for fill in.
cheers
Paul
