I've made some progress on this model, so I thought I would start a thread.

I am having a very good time building this one. It is very detailed and the fit is excellent. The colors are sparse, gray and darker gray, but it looks nice.

Here is the engine ready for mounting.

Some tires. I painted the tires black because I thought the originals were too gray and it was too hard to color all of the tread edges well enough.

Hey Piterpanzer:

I painted only the tires. Everything else (chassis, engine, rims) is original. I will not paint anything else (except for edges) unless I really mess it up.

Thats a VERY clean build so far.

The tires are exceptionally well assembled.

Very impressive. And I cannot agree more with the rest. Those tires are
amazing.

Thanks. I am following your Kubelwagen thread with great interest. I also have this model on the shelf for later tortu...er...amusement. Since you have both the 1:25 and 1:16 kits, I'll ask if there are any major differences.

I believe.................... we are seeing another Picture of the Week in the works!

I swear those tires had to be put on the rims with one of those tire machines! At first glance I thought rubber, but after staring at the screen for a L O N G time you really REALLY have to look close to tell they are not.

Great Job!

POST More pictures................... so far everything shown is substantial!
