This is my first real commercial model. I received it as a Christmas present from my sister after this fairly unsubtle conversation of what I wanted for a present:
Me: "Hey! I want a paper model!"
Sister: "Okay! What kind?"
Me: "As long as its a plane, I'm easy."
Sister: "Any particular type of plane?"
Me: "Nope. I'll let you choose."
Come Christmas day:
Me: "Oh wow, a ship! I'm... um... slightly confused. What made you buy a ship?"
Sister: "I bought it for you because it was complicated.
"
She's an art student, though, so I really can't blame her. :twisted:
No matter. The only problem I had with getting a ship is that I have absolutely no clue where I'm going to fit it inside my dorm. I tried to scan the model so I could scale it down, but the scanners at my college would require three (3) scans per sheet, so I have to build the model full-size. The only shelves that can easily house the model are the same shelves on which food and dishes are stored, so to avoid any unnecessary food related accidents, I'm attempting to perfect telekinesis and have the ship float in an out of the way area.
As for building the model, this is the first time I've worked with formers. They hurt. I'm taking my time and being careful, and as a result I only have the front half of the boat formers completed. I'll post pictures of what I have done later today.
