First parts of group 25 (reactor section) are built, the ones that are the aft end of the group and the connection to the engine:

I added thick cardboard (2.5 mm) to the inner side of the "foot", because it will later be placed upon the third forth acrylic stand, and if everything goes well carry the weight not only of the middle section, but also of the engine:

The laser-cut stand fits perfectly - that was a bit thrilling, as I took the measurements directly from Jan's files before the part was build:

I also ordered some laser-cut frames for the 4 reactor rings, made from the mentioned 2.5 mm thick cardboard:

Those will make me able to get rid of the tabs of the "ring walls", which should simplify the build. They will also help to make sure that the 4 rings will be of the same size and fit together perfectly while being very rigid.

Yesterday I finished the reactor core "sandwich". This is how it is looking now:

It will be tough to get it mounted correctly, so that the flat end side will be exactly 90 degree to the ground level... otherwise the engine will later stick up or face down. I guess I'll use a couple of bubble levels to check the allignment a thousand times before I glue...

By the way, speaking about sweets... THIS is what a consequent paper modeler eats while he is building:

Man, they look good and tasty! I would love to make a model and just eat it in front of someone. Take some sheets to one of those places that prints photos on cakes, and make a WW I Tank, then eat it. The tracks could be flattened liquorish!

That is a GREAT idea for a film where you have someone eating everything insight and everyone else around is wondering WTF is going on.

Start of the reactor housing, port side:

I used 2 frames instead of just one. If I got the unmarked parts from Jan right his intention is to use only one frame for the housing, but I thought using 2 would make it easier to get the shape right.

I decided to glue the parts of the outer ring edge-to-edge instead of using the glue tabs. Here is the most outer ring:

And this is how it looks alltogether. The complete rim is made out of 3 seperate rings. It was easier than I thought it would be!

Port reactor cover is now done, the procedure will be repeated for the starboard side.

That has to be one of the best Domes I have ever seen. To have made one so big, and so clean! Excellent craftsmanship! That would be a great dustcover for a crazy "Sulaco" style speaker cones!

Yesterday I aligned the two main modules (bow and middle hull) on their acrylic bases and added some magnetic connections for detail parts (pylon, railguns) and to held the main sections together tight. This is how it looks now:
