Aliens M-557
Wonderful and incredible! Are you a big silver!
I would like to ask you a question, where purchases sheets of cardboard 2 mm?
Will you make a pdf with all the images and the guide attached?
I am not sure about the big silver, but my hair is white and I am old in age (oxidized) but not in spirit. sign1
A while back I had visions of grandeur and taking my thread (my super chimera) and turning it into a book like instruction manual, something like you mentioned. I got through about four pages and it is very time consuming, not to mention the editing and proofreading. My paint program which I use for the captions, does not have a spell and grammar checker. So no, I do not plan on making a zip file instruction on it. On that note, my Super Chimera showed up on a pirate site and the person who uploaded the plans, also took all of the instructions and made a file of it and attached it to the download. That means that a member of this site or the other one, borrowed my model. At least he did not make it a for pay model and kept it free which was my intention.
As for the paper or cardstock that I use, it is about the thickness of two 110lbs (US) paper weight. My former wife works at a certain factory and they tend to throw away cardstock used for the making of jewelry, and perfume boxes. It is velum quality but I also use poster board or manila folders which approximate the same thickness.
Speechless. Ecstatic. What else could I say? Only wait for more of this beautiful art!
Thanks for looking in Rogerio. Is zero dark thirty hours at the time of this posting and I cannot take a good quality photo of the stage where I am at now and I do not use use a flash because it glares the photo too much but I am done with the insides of the carrier and about to work on the top cover shortly with the overhead inside consoles. Then I will work on an idea for making that sliding side door. I have a bunch of other ideas to do on this model and the wheels are not even done yet. Stick around for more stuff to come.
Here is a small tutorial on the making of laminated pieces. It stands true for thin or thick pieces. It cuts down on making fiddly little tabs and gives you a solid piece to work with. Here I made some first aid kit boxes but with the same technique, I also made some ammo boxes. With this method I made the crossbeams and the structures for the seats. The only thing holding me back is more imagination. The last photos are of some c-ration boxes the Pulse rifle with the ammo can sides. These pieces are laminated to the required thickness. The c-ration boxes can be laminated and the printed part wrapped around it but it folds like the real box. The parts are set for landscape and are about 1/35 scale. if they are oriented to portrait size, they will be about 1/48th scale. They can be used for other dioramas or details other than the ALIENS venue. Enjoy and see you all next posting.:thumb:
