Today I installed 3 uncoupling magnets on the 2 bridges going into my yard.
One is on a deck bridge and 2 are on a Kato double track bridge.
To install on the Kato bridge you must remove the upper structure which is done by prying inward on the retaining clips from the underside and lift off. Once off you must snip off the lower (latching clip) from the clips. This will allow you to remove the upper structure when needed and yet replace it in indexing holes.
Then remove the decking and ties in the center of the track yet over 2 of the under supports (to hold up the magnets). The magnets are glued on the bottom with Walthers Goo and set in place and Micro-Trains coupler gauges are placed over them (to center and support the magnet) and allowed to dry for 24 hours.
After they are proven to function , you mearly set the bridge on the deck.
