When I was looking for some boats to build i found this one.I increased it 2x2 in poster mode and going to back a lot of parts with poster board.My wish list for this one is Balsa decks,Window screen fencing ,Clear windows to start.The overall size comes to 38 inches long.Started with the bottom hull.001.JPG

008.JPGPrint out the page in poster cut out the parts and back them to black poster paper.Then cut out again and assemble the bottom.Then coat the inside with glue to harden the part.

yes that is the one but I am making it larger.this one is the liberty bell.finding it hard to find the Mark Twain pictures.

That's great, I love Riverboats. I look forward to seeing this come together! :)
 
008.JPGbuilt the deck out of a double layer of foam board as it will make the deck almost the right thickness .the balsa will finish the right thickness.
 
Where do you store all these massive models you make! The Hull came out excellent. I look forward to the upper super structure, not sure what they call them on riverboats, the house "thingy" stuck up on the top there! :)

I send them to my dead relatives when I get boarded looking at them.But before that I let children play with them.
 
Ok found out the names of the decks on the Mark Twain.Bottom to top they are Main deck,Promenade deck,Texas deck and the Pilot house.
 
That is so cool!! Tuning it will be a real test!!

*Hint: You can get the focus to work better (Auto-focus) if you press lightly on the button, and hold a sheet of paper behind the model. The auto focus infra red LED will zoom in on the paper (which should but touching the back of the model), then pull the paper away and continue with the full click, not relieving pressure, or you will loose the focus. :)
