Macross II VF2SS by Janx

Hello All,

No I didn't die...................yet :P

While I was witing on new parts from Janx I started a secret side project that I thought would take a couple weeks.............. yeah right :P

Now that the secert project is in it's fianl stages I can get back to work on this bad boy.

I've built the new head and pods. The pods have a track system as it slides up in Battroid mode, back in Gerwalk mode, and is centered in Fighter mode. THe mount sides up and down the fuesalage as well as the mount on the pod sildes. I don't believe this is an indication that the kit will transform in the future so much as a design attempt to keep everything mechanicaly true.

TBH this wouldn't be possible without Getter's superb abilities and excellent feedback.

Once the model is pinned down the re texturing will begin,
 
oh wow. I don't know alot about the giant robot / F-14 alike/ Gundam/ macross/ japanimae genre, and my only real contact with Macross was many years ago with a couple of small plastic kits, (a V-F1 Valkyrie and something heavier with two big honkin' guns on each side...) and an SD Gundam. The important thing is they are cool. And this one is Very cool.

..I did always think the Gerwalk (?) mode was kinda odd.

Indeed they are cool. It's nice to see the mecha and anime genre growing on this board so you'll be exposed to more of these. If you want to see this baby in action try to rent a copy of Macross2 the movie. Believe me you won't be dissapointed ;)

Though Gerwalk (Guardian in Robotech terms) is an odd configuration it is IMO the most versitile of the 3 modes. In most every game featuring these mechs it is the most manuverable and destructive of the modes. believe it or not though the Battroid (Battloid) mode is probably the coolest looking it is the most useless to me.

Got a batch of new parts from Janx so I best get back to work :p

hey getter when are we going to see another update. i am dying to see this model finished :P

Sorry no recent updates, but as has been reported I got messed up bad. Here's another thread I started last night giving further discription,

I did get Janx's new back pods built and most of one of the new legs done but I got injured before it could be completed. All the parts are cut out and shaped to :(

So this build and everything else is on hold ATM :( It's hard just to sit up for more than 10 minutes as the extra blood flow causes the fingers to throb. So I can't even design for now :(

Well got a ton of DVDs to catch up on :P

Got surgery tomorrow so wish me luck.

Oh my gosh! I love that! One of my uncles had one, and I always thought he'd give it to me ;) That really sucks though...only opening the lid... How much water do you think will be on it after you get better?
