Lost in Space: A. P. Tucker's Spaceship

As we discussed it earlier in the 3D printing section I have taken the stl file of Tucker's spaceship as a base to rebuild it in SketchUp. This new model is designed for papercrafting and has only a fraction of faces compared to the stl file. The rough shape is there, refinement is in progress. Stay tuned!

Studying the screenshot from the show I noticed that the original set piece differs from the stl file in certain respects. I am now editing the shape to bring it closer to the original:

Great work on this so far, I vaguely remember this episode.

Proportions were refined. A few details will be added to the ladder. I have set the size and will unfold it in 1/12 scale which makes it about 26 cm tall. @ASC Mclaren : Yes, I'll resize it to 1/18, too.

Two questions to all LiS aficionados:

Are there any clues on the colours?

Was the dome clear?

What are those recesses around the perimeter supposed to be? Static lights? Running lights? Reflective parts?

I have successfully unfolded the pattern. The 1/18 scale version fits better on the pages so this is the one I'm going to test. The 1/12 scale version will be done for those who want to have a more impressive display model.
