!!Not sure if this is the right place for that question. If not, dear admins please move it to appropriate place.!!

I enjoyed the x video games. They changed the appearance of ships with same names throughout the series. Nice designs in all of them.
But the m6 argon centaur from the second game, x2 the threat, was always one of my favorites. The centaur from the x3 games looked completely different and lost all the beauty in my opinion.

So I was looking for a paper model template on the net but did not find anything.
Does anyone here know of a place for x ships templates?

If there are none I may have to create one. Never did something like that. I read @mijob 's thread showing the creation of the star wars marauder model. This is quite inspiring. But perhabs I will need assistance on the creation of a centaur template. I think with zealot I'm on the right place for this.

I was also wondering if I could grab the ship model as an object from the game and create the template from it with some software.
What kind of software would do the job? Something like blender? I never used it

Thats a nice looking ship. I have looked for you on internet and I didn't find this model. There is another ship from the game available on papermau.

Regarding designing your own model you can use a 3D or 2D program. Find the program that works for you. For 3D programs youcan use Rhino, Sketch up orblender. 2 D programs inkscape or coreldraw.

Start finding good reference images. The image you shared in your posting is a good start. Try to find front, rear, top bottom, right and left side views.

Try to start with some easy drawing to get familiar with the program. Good luck and you know to find us if you need help.

I am familiar with corel and inkscape. With these you are suggesting I shall try drawing the parts which I can derive from looking at the ship, print them and see, if they make up the shapes, right?

Yes, I need more and better pics. Could not find good screenshots. Probably have to fire up that old game again and cheat it in my possession. Definitely have not the time anymore to play it properly :lolsign:
