Hi all!
Went to a family reunion down in east Tn. this past week, & while I was there, my father-in-law told me about "a bunch of RR stuff" sitting in a field over in Townsend, Tn., about 25 or 30 miles from where I was staying...
So I took a few hours one day, & drove over there to investigate, & here's what I found...

First I found a standard gauge 3-truck Shay (looks to be about an 80 tonner) lettered for the Little River Lumber Co. It appears that someone has been trying to restore this locomotive, & it only has part of its driveshaft intact...

Your Pictures

Nice shots Charlie! I was just reading about Arch Bar trucks in the Dec. MR. From your pictures I can see what the guy was saying about Arch Bars - "bolted together". He stated they were ban from mainline service in 1939, mostly because the BOLTS KEPT COMMING LOOSE! That must have been exciting!

Little River

Nice photos! Great to see real railroading, not a bunch of growlers with 100 covered hoppers behind them. I have recently purchased two (2) 2-4-4-2 Little River logging engines for the S&BNLCRR. Nice because the Little River was standard gauge.
Once again, thanks for sharing the photos. By the way, where are the instructions for posting photos.

Hey Marc,

Click on "Home" at the top of this page
Click on "Add Images"

But it's pretty easy once you get the idea. When you are done with your "reply" text, scroll down and hit "Browse", select your picture in your file and double click it. DO NOT click "Preview", just hit "Submit". Your picture will show up when your reply is done posting. That "preview" thingy messed me up also until others on the Forum enlightened me.

Seems like you are sending me your work train.......what can I say! Thanks ............. I'll send you a picture of it in the wilds of Jacqueline Heights.:D

Work Train

Jacksters,

Well, I just can keep a secret anymore. Must be the old age! LOL.
Also, some nice shots of the club's modules.
Thanks for the update on photos. I will definately be posting some soon.

How was T-Day buddy?

Marc
