Lionel did provide some cars, locos and train sets in HO guage until the late 1970s. I happen to have one loco, a GS-4 Daylight engine, originally produced by Lionel but later produced in even larger quantities by Bachmann. Some cars were actually made by Athearn for Lionel. If there's a missile car in there it would probably be from the 1950's run of Lionel HO stuff rather than the seventies. Lionel has made HO stuff off and on for 50 years or more now...not including OO stuff from the thirties.
