"Life size" R2-D2

Has anyone built the life size R2-D2? (by DeviantART member Adisko. I found the link on Tektonten) and if yes, how was it? It looks straight forward enough, but any tips are useful. I'm thinking of giving it a go (and yes, I will post the build when I get to it, lol. Just don't expect speedy service ;) ) Forgive me if this is a redundant post, but I couldn't find another one on this topic.
 
Oh, and if an admin could let me know if I can/should post the link, I'd appreciate it. (I'm still not entirely clear on which links are post-able, lol. Evidence of my limited tech abilities, I'm afraid)
 
i have tried once to build a r2 unit.
from scratch. i became a member of the R2 forums to get the technical drawings from the R2 unit.
But i stopped at the dome.
And after some years the R2 has been detroyed and trashed.. :-(
