Lego Rebel Blockade Runner

Lego Ultimate Collector’s Series 10019 “Rebel Blockade Runner” set was discontinued well over a decade; original set would cost more than an arm and a leg by now, if I can find one. I wanted one really bad and don’t want to paid up to my nose so I built my Blockade Runner with lose Lego pieces. I download the instruction and find the template online for the sticker. Other than the sticker don't looks as good as the original, everything else are all there just like the original. ~ <3

Wow, this is truly impressive! This is also a strategy which serves you well - if you can't find or have it, make it yourself. One of the main advantages of Lego is that the pieces are modular and identical. So virtually everything can be built using the same basic shapes even if you don't have the original kit (unless there are special parts involved). Great job!

Thank you. Tracking down all the pieces I need to build the model is fun too, almost like egg hunt. At the end, getting all the Lego pieces cost almost the same as the original price when it was released way back when.

That is an awesome model! How long did it take you to build it? Did you have all the parts on hand, or did you have to/get to go shopping? And if so, where did you go? And would you be willing to share where you found the instructions?

I showed my 9-year old the pictures. He drooled all over my screen. (So did I).

RF, you can also order the parts you need in just about any color Lego makes them in. And if you haven't worked with it, Lego Digital Designer is an impressive piece of CAD/Lego modeling software. It's also free. With it, you can design...well, anything you can imagine. It will even generate step-by-step instructions in HTML or PDF format, and create a parts list...which can be ordered from Lego. From what I understand, it's like making your own Lego set.

My wife will literally kill me if I ever order the castle I've got in the works (a mere 4,290 bricks, and it's not finished yet)...

The pieces that will cost you to build that castle…. Yup, your wife will kill you! I tried that Lego program many years ago, maybe I will take a look at that again. I buy all the pieces lose, ½ from ebay where people sell them by the box load and ½ from Lego collector/seller as listed below. I planning to build the Sandcrawler next, nope I have enough pieces in stock.

I forgot to say it took me about 7 weeks because of missing pieces I need and waiting for them to come in the mail.
