Here is my latest build. It is Jaybat's Viper MK-II. Here is a link to his website (for those of you who do not know who he is.)Jay's Box of Sci-Fi CardToys | ...stuff hard to find anywhere else

This model is "stock". except the size. I printed it on A-3 format cardstock rather then A-4 format cardstock. A-3 is too small for me to really work with for this model.

I hope you enjoy. :)

Nice, clean build! Impressive!! How much difference is there in the sizes of the models between A-3 and A-4? I can't build small either...

Hey I just finished making one of these too! My first ever build! I'm starting the galactica ship next. Yours looks good! The only part I hated was making the wings, so many fiddly folds. Also I had a hard time making the guns, but it looks ok for my first try I think.

A-3 cardstock is twice the size of A-4 cardstock, so the model would be about twice the size as well.

I did try to make it at regular (A-4) size, but just could not do it.wall1wall1wall1

Yours looks better the mine.
I too had the same kind of problems (and more).wall1wall1wall1

When I built mine, I laminated the wings to avoid those pesky tabs and it came out more sturdy than if I had used the fold lines. My build thread is here in the archives some where, along with the hangar bay. Click on silveroxide and look for my build threads.

Scale

With that scale the possibilities are endless. Looks to be about 1-32 or slightly bigger. My interest is peeking again in the world of BSG. Great model, hope to see more.

I always thought that the general design of the "VIPER" as a whole is a great design. It lends its self to so many veriants.
I would have to say that the "Viper" is one of my favorite fighters.
My very first (cardstock)scratch built model was a viper (a very basic design), when I was about 13. For the "scale", I used a "Star wars" action figure (I think it was a Storm Trooper) as my "pilot" and built the model aroung it. (unfortunately, that was a long time ago, and I do not have that model any more.)

The other "fighter" design that I greatly like is the "Star Fighter" from "Buck Roger". (BTW, I know that the same person designed both planes.)

Actualy, yes, that one (you did a great job on the recolouring). I thought about doing the same thing. I am still thinking about making each one of the MK veriants (I all ready have the one that I designed.) in BSG colours.

I have that model saved on my computer. It would not be that hard to recolour it in Paintshop. I just need other decals. I think that will be my next side project.

I got the side decals from paragon's viper and the BSG logo from the BSG site. I then trimmed, copy and pasted. For the pilots name, I put Athena on the front and Boomer on the rear, just for the heck of it. This is a two seater. (whenever Wilma hitched a ride with Buck, she was always in the back seat.) The only thing I forgot was the GALACTICA name, but then it is already mentioned in the BSG Logo.
