Hi all!

Is 24 gauge wire too thin for wiring switches? I can buy network or phone cable that has colored 24 gauge wire way cheaper than the Atlas 20 gauge ribbon cable. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Wally

Depends on what you mean by wiring switches. I have used phone cable to wire Atlas switch machines, which are momentary. I would not use it for constant track power. To small.
For track power, I use 20 gauge for the feeders and 18 gauge for the buss wire.

yes, i mean for atlas switch machines.

FWIW: I used left over cat5 cable (networking) for my atlas machines, works fine.

Thanks
