Zathros, thanks for the kind words. Still intend to, when finish to assemble, follow your tip about painting the edges. Then I'll try a coat or two of art (craftmanship) varnish, to make it shiny (I like it shiny...sign1), and maybe a little harder.
About the hardness of model, well, as I say to my kids: HARD IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE! I think I'll post the pictures of my first builds later.

Wisely spoken. I built a few simple paper models when I was little. I quickly turned to plastic models (from Revell :oops:) because there weren't many good templates available at my place then. After two decades I decided to build a paper model again. I succeeded and I got hooked to this kind of art again. It was a "pro" model, with many fiddly parts and an ingenious design. Guess what is was. It was Martin Saenger's Thunderfighter.

This thread was the beginning of my continuing collaboration with Rhaven Blaack. We've teamed up and developed a series of add-on kits which you may grab from Martin's site, too:

You need Martin's Thunderfighter base model to build the variants. One kit comes with a detailed cockpit interior and landing gear. This is the thread:

BTW, this thread is not dead. There are three more variants in the works which will be described there, too. Included will be the Ralph McQuarrie concept Colonial Viper from Battlestar Galactica which will make the transition from the Thunderfighter mod thread to a new Colonial Viper mod thread. But first we have to complete the new BSG hangar bay.

Keep "walking"

Hi,

This is the latest info on the WIP. I have assembled the leg, and now I'm going for the thigh. After that, I have to decide whether to assemble the base or start working on making the model look better (like painting the seams, for instance).
I don't know, for now, if I should glue the knee joint, or let it just the way it is (it was made to be articulated, but the "hinge" seems so weak...).
I had to glue the right thigh to the codpiece/waist, because it was somewhat loose. Anyway, I checked out this joint for movement, and it showed not possible; that does NOT excludes the possibility of me doing something wrong...:rolleyes:
Let's see Revell-fan's work.

I had a weak joint, too (cut a hole too big). It's an easy fix: just wrap a piece of paper around the tube which goes through the holes. Or glue a piece of paper behind the hole(s) and cut out another smaller hole.

Yeah, man, but what I say is about the upper leg joint, the one that connects to the hip. I don't think that was made to move. I tried, but pieces 13, 14 and 15 (third part) do not allow it. Either that, or I've done something wrong.
Comments and considerations welcome.
 
Thigh started

Hey

I wasn't going to post anymore today, but I though: "Why not"? Although Revell-Fan is doing a wonderful job, I, as a newbie, think that mine is not so bad. I still have a lot to learn, though, I recognize.
So, as the title says, the left thigh outer part is almost (damn!:curse:) ready. I'll have it done by tomorrow, but I think, I'll have it all ready by tomorrow. It's now a warm, rainy night here in Rio, so I'll wait for the morning to come.
After all, tomorrow will be another day (isn't it obvious?sign1)

It's alive!

It's alive, it's aliive! MMWAHAHAHAHAHAHA (mad scientist laughter...sign1).
Rise, Iron Man, thanks to Juilus Perdana, and a little bit to me...
Of course, I have just assembled it. There's still a lot to do in the seams, but I had to share the feeling of accomplishmet of this (mature) newbie. And a little varnish will make it glow the way it should.
You may notice that the model balances itself, the only issue about it is that it needs to be kept with the knees a bit bent. I think LOENF had the same issue, but I'm not sure. Take a look at his thread: http://www.zealot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=173707&highlight=iron
Now I'm working on the base, and soon I'll be finishing up the model and building the closed fists (many thanks to Revell-Fan!!).
I never thought papercraft could be so accomplishing, yet... ADDICITIVE!:rolleyes:

Thanks Revell-Fan, I hope to see yours assembled pretty soon! I'll be very happy for you, for there were times in which I thought I wasn't cut out for this task, or even this hobby.
When I was about to give up, I decided to post some pictures, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. It gave me courage and strength to carry on, and seeing what I've accomplished being a newbie, pleases me in no end (quoting Mr. Spock).
