Hello everybody, :cry:
After a space of 15 years, I'm back to the hobby, obviously many things have changed in that time, so I am learning again, by the time I try to start my new layout of NdeM, (1930-1960), and I happy for found this wonderful site. :wave:

Buenos dias Augusto! Does your future involve an HOn3 2-6-6-2? I've read a little bit on Mexican narrow gauge railroads, but my knowledge of their standard gauge equipment ends with the fact that they had the last surviving PA-1s.

Do you live in central Mexico?

There seems to be something odd, because I can tell from my email that Augusto has updated something...but it isn't showing up in the thread.

Augusto, There is a book titled "Mexican Narrow Gauge". They owned the 2nd largest 3 foot gauge locomotives in the world...2-6-6-2s. They were similar to the Uintah/Sumpter Valley 2-6-6-2s here in the US that ended up in Guatemala. Sumpter250 here on our forum is a fan of them.

A good number of US locomotives ended their lives as property of N de M. My favorite standard gauge road, the NKP, sold several 2-8-2s to N de M. Since these were USRA light 2-8-2 copies...you could probably make USRA 2-8-2s pass as N de M 2-8-2s.

EDIT: I just checked...they received 25 2-8-2s from the NKP...and 17 from the P&LE. They also received 2 narrow gauge 2-8-2s from the D&RGW...
Here's what the narrow gauge 2-8-2's looked like (2 survive here...plus it is one of the most popular models in the US):

Must have been some sort of glitch. I saw several duplicated posts from Augusto so I'm assuming they didn't show up for him either so he kept trying(Am I right Augusto?). In any case, I removed all of the duplicates but one but the one immediately above your post NKP174. Neat pictures!

It is right, Ralph, I put a new post, but the page not shown nothing, so I try again but without success.
Probably I will be doing something wrong.

Hmmmm, not sure what you might be doing wrong Augusto. I see your most recent post in reply to mine. Looks good! Hopefully there won't be any more glitches for you!

You are right, most of the locomotives of NdeM, began their lives on the lines of USA.
It really is a beautiful machine.
I understand classes H2, H3, H4, H6, were built around from 1906-1923, and some H6 in 1949, but not know specifically which were acquired by NdeM.
