i some where have seen a photo of a diesel on the Pacific Electric ( i think its the one
) running with a trolley pole not to power diesel but for signal detection . as a model you could power it off trolley wire

Often it's simply required to activate signalling, although they may be able to power the traction motors as well, if it's a 600V wire.

It will add to the lay out op`s and give more photo ops too :thumb:
I hope this weekend I can have the wiring sorted!! a couple of center off switches should do the trick.
