i voted for the last 3,i dont necessarily use small enough amounts to justify buying the baggies they have.and alot of my ground cover is ground up leaves preserved in glycerin.--josh
I almost said gather but that would only be half right,I do gather, but I grind and puree too.
In the four{or so}years I've been doing this I have bought NO scenic materials
.I blend/paint my own ground foam and my trees are all plant based, because {a}the nearest hobby shop is a four hour ret, trip{b}I'm on a very limited budget.
I keep pluggin' away,'cause I love it
well i buy it in the shakers to start with then when i get the next run of it i get it in the bad and put it in the shaker. shakers keep it from falling over and getting all over the place. Unless you forget to close the top. LOL
It rather depends on what I'm doing. For ground cover I use shakers, with some of the coarser foam (bagged) applied by hand. For trees, I'll use the plastic armatures with clump foam from bags.
In this poll it is possible to vote for more than one option...
I voted for "bagged" and "roll your own" . I use the 500g (1 lb) peanut butter jars for storing and dispensing. I have a few spare lids that have been drilled with appropriate sized holes that I swap in or out as needed.
I am a scrounger! Anything I can get my hands on gets modified for the layout! My wife thought I was crazy when she came home and I was baking old coffee grinds in the oven! :genius2:
Stripes, eggszactly!,my nephew, who is just getting started said just the other day that he looks at everything differently now,as in "what can this be"
Yip, one of my old customer's sons actually used to like buying from our "scrap bin". He always would buy a bundle of the oddest things, he's father would always ask what he planned on doing with it and he would reply that he didn't know yet but he knew that they needed it.
Sorry for sad ending but his father died from a heart attack two weeks back, really feel for them (two sons, 14 and 10, and his wife)
