Pic of the only vehicles so far a couple semi's and trailers. No real layout yet, still in the beginning phase(I bought foam last weekend)

I drove for Schneider National for 4 years so I HAD to get one of these as soon as I saw them!!! :thumb:

Found this at Tractor Supply..Not sure if its 1/87th scale but it looks close enough..

It would look great with a minor bit of detailing. I model on a budget and look for cheap finds all over. Its fun to see how realistic you can make models with a little work.

Happy B-day! Now, you think we are going to let you get away with just pictures? Details!!!! Spill the beans!! I'm not an HO buff (that's my excuse and I'm stickin' to it) and so can't recognize these things by site.... Who makes the locos? New, used, ebay find? What? DCC, Sound? Neat stuffs. Did you buy them yourself (like I usually have to for myself) or was a certain significant other thoughtful enough to shower you with these gifts?

Locos, Athearn, DCC ready, NEW like every other engine. I am going to see Bruce about them.

I picked out a list of things I wanted. My Mommy and Daddy bought this stuff you saw for me. The wife got me other things. :)

I love being an only child! sign1

I did some more stuff today as far as models go.
First up a all metal trailer I built. I am really happy with it. It will be used to haul my new tractor. I will end up having the trailer painted yellow. :)
Any suggestions on which way the tractor should face for weight on the trailer when its hauled around?

Thanks to Woodone for the inspiration to try this model. He really needs to post some of his works here as they are amazing! :thumb:

Thanks for looking!

Looks good man! As always... Everything does. :thumb: I can't help ya with which way it should be on the trailer, I've seen them both ways area here.

Looks good.
Have the mass of the backhoe, the cab and engine, sitting over the trailers wheels, and a little towards the pulling vehicle to put the weight on the drawbar. That would put the bucket facing the ramps.
Hope that helps.

AWESOME Combat, I love that trailer, I plan on getting a few of those also to haul around some small equipment like that behind a pick-up or small dump-truck.

As for which way it should face, put it facing backwards like the last picture, that way more weight from the mini excavator will be on the trailer hitch when it is hooked up to what ever you put it with and it will be less likely for it to fall off its hitch during transportation

**Edit** Position as 88 said above, we posted at the same time and he does a better job explaining sign1

Here is an update of the trailer after paint. It was picked up by the utility company.

announce1AWESOME!!! Very nice!!!! From what I have seen you have the best collection of scale modern trucking equipment I have seen!!! :thumb:

I wish I was doing HO because there is a much better selection...

Great weathering on the trailers.

I drive a semi and it is amazing how bad the condition of trailers can get!
