Due to my parents getting a divorce and me and my dad moving out, I will have the opportunity for a full room layout. I am in the process of making a trackplan using abobe photoshop. I have done this before for the N steel mill module (which I still plan to do). Everything is drawn to exact scale including the curves of 24, 22, and 18 degrees, turnouts including #6 and #4’s, curved turnouts including #6.5 and #7, and all the buildings are to scale as well.
Some of you might remember a plan that I did a few months ago that was my dream layout plan, well there was alot of problems with the measurments of the radius of the track so I have spent the last month or so gradually making new correct templetes of track pieces including the curves, switches, curved switches and also the buildings. This plan is as acurate as you can get it using photoshop, although I am sure there are still a few things that might be off a tad :curse: :curse: sign1
This layout will have 2 levels with a 24” radius helix connecting the 2 and a 3rd small level for staging below the second. The staging level will not use a helix to get down, instead a rising track will connect the 2nd and 3rd levels since the 3rd level will not have any buildings and therefore will not need much “sky” room.
I have been working on this for about a week now and I have just finished the top level, this is just to get an idea of how much time has been put into it so far.

This shows the benchwork and all the measurements that are necessary. Also includes the door and walkin to the room. I have added the 24” radius helix to give you an idea of what that area will look like. And I know that this will be a tuff area to reach lol.
This one shows the helix and the scenic divider that will help hide the helix from photos taken. This wall will not be very tall, maybe 1 ½ feet tall.
This shows the mainline which is the darker red line. The faded red lines are undertable track work. There is a lift bridge and it is the Walthers Single Track Truss Bridge (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3185) and spans 20” of the 24” walkway.
This is the refinery part of the layout. It consist of the Walthers United Petroleum Refinery (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3705), Walthers Wide Oil Storage Tanks x 3 (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3167), Walthers Tank Car Loading Racks x 3 (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3104), and the Walthers Tank Truck Loading Rack (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3169). The gold tracks are tracks that come off the mainline, I did this just to make the mainline stand out more.
This is the Walthers Shop Building No. 1 (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3165), and the Walthers Heritage Furniture (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3164), combination shown in the Walthers 2006 reference book. I like that set-up so I decided to model it. The only thing I will change is add walls to extend the building were the white space is to make it all one building.
This shows the Walthers Armstrong Electric Motors (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3172) built to it’s full length of 16” long. Also there is the Walthers Sub-Station (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3025), and the Walthers Transmission Towers (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3121). Sub-station baseplate has been chopped down to fit.
This is the City Classics Small MFRing Building (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/195-109) which is served by rail in the back and by truck in the front. Has a Walthers #7 curved turnout coming off the mainline for the siding.
This is the Walthers Allied Rail Re-builders Complex (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3016). This has the Walthers Overhead Traveling Crane (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3102) in front of the building which serves 2 tracks and the 3rd is left blank for flatbed trucks. Track goes all the way through Allied building and out the back and dead ends at a bumper against the backdrop. A Walthers #6.5 curved Turnout makes the siding into 2 tracks.
This is a custom building built using Nu-Line Structures modular walls. I have built this building to fit the scene. It has truck docks in the front and rail docks along the side. There will also be some trailers parked in the yard for both the Custom Building and the Magic Pan Bakery Complex (which is the next building I added).
This is the Walthers Magic Pan Bakery Complex (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-2915), which includes the main warehouse that has truck docks on the front and rail doors on the side, Silos, office, and an unloading rack for covered hoppers. I have moved the office behind the main warehouse now as you will see in the next pic.
This is the Walthers Mc Graw Oil (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-2913) and the yard office with guard gate (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3517). The guard gate and the yard office is enclosed with a chain-link fence that will keep trespassers out. This is the yard office for Magic Pan, Custom Building, Allied Rail and Mc Graw Oil.

This is the Walthers Superior Paper Complex (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3060) and the Walthers Rotary Dumper (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-2848) The bottom track that serves the building is 18” radius and the one that serves the rotary dumper is 22” radius. The Main warehouse has truck docks on the front.
And last building for the top level is the Walthers Peterson Tool Specialties Building (http://walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3091). There are truck docks on the front and a rail door that enters directly in the building.
