Since the morgan crane was built,I needed something for it to do. A steel converter is used inside the BOF building. It's sole purpose is to melt scrap quickly. They do this by charging the vessel with scrap metal and then a nice charge of molten iron. Blown with oxygen at super sonic speeds.Makes a heck of a racket and fire works to boot.
I started my latest scratch build using 3" PVC pipe conectors.Mainly a 3" end cap & 3" reducing ring for the vessels rough shape.The trunnion ring is made out of three pieces of cut styrene. The main holding pins are made from old lego toy parts. These lego shapes are incredible & there uses just keep coming.
