HO Lumber Module

Hey guys, just thought I would post something I just came up with :mrgreen:

Its a Module that is 5 feet long x 24" wide

Ive always wanted to do something using the Walthers Cornerstone Lumber Buildings so......

Here are the buildings I included in the plan:

1. Mountain Lumber Company Sawmill - Walthers Model Railroad Mall -- product information page for 933-3058
2. Walton and Sons Lumber Company Warehouse - Walthers Model Railroad Mall -- product information page for 933-3057
3. Sawmill Outbuildings - Walthers Model Railroad Mall -- product information page for 933-3144

All the track is Atlas C83 and the Turnouts are all Atlas Custom Line #4 and the crossing in the middle is a 45 degree.

I originally did the trackplan in Atlas Freeware but couldnt get the buildings to go at an angle how I wanted them so I simply coppied the trackplan over to photoshop and then drew the buildings in using the dimentions on Walthers Web Site.

In between the black lines on either side is 5'

Now I realize that this trackplan leaves hardly any room for switching operations, especially at the bottom left corner with the 2 switches, but this is just something im building for looks and fun, no operating trains on this one, ill just use it to take some pics on :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

So with that said, what do you guys think?

Any comments/suggestions are welcome

looks like you got a good setup there :thumb: .and a great place for even better photo shoots :mrgreen: .so what era is it,modern day,50's,1800's?.and even if there is no operation.its easily expandable in the future for great operational possibilities --josh

so what era is it,modern day,50's,1800's?

This will be the modern era Lumber Operation with modern cars :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

and even if there is no operation.its easily expandable in the future for great operational possibilities --josh

Exactly, this is going to make for some pretty cool pics I think

wow,one hour! thats quick!was this one of those "spur of the moment" motivations? :mrgreen: .
i've thought about building a diorama of a local lumber mill called "marfab lumber" on glencrossing way.there used to be a bridge over the ENTIRE intersection to that one industry.ill show pic slater if you want.--josh

Yup, it was one of those spur of the moment type things lol I was in chat on another forum and one of my buddies is like uhh ohh we have 2 Josh's in the house (the other Josh was jbaakko) and he said I just thought of a cool name for a lumber compay or something and he said Josh and Josh Lumber and I said hey thats cool Ive always wanted to do a lumber scene and now here I am lol making a lumber module trackplan :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Id love to see the pic, I always like seeing pics :thumb: :mrgreen:

here is an updated plan for the Lumber module, I moved the 2 switches to the middle that were on the far left corner.

well,i've had some bad luck.i cant fnd ANY pics of mar-fab lumber on google.if anyone knows a place i can try or has some pics theyd be really nice for me and my future ventures :mrgreen: and josh here.TIA.and sorry i couldnt get pics earlier josh i didnt think i be this hard --josh

Another small update, extended the top siding to wrap around tha back of the building.
