Hi all,

After Takao I started on FUSO, but like to make something different from FUSO, so I'm now trying to make a part of the interior vissible of the ship, specific the C-turret, enclosed are some building report pictures.

WOW!!! I think I started this ship a few years back and put it on hold because it was difficult as it was designed, man this is great work, great job!!

So far the completed Gun barrel with cradle and elevating cylinders, look at the Main elevating cylinder, it's realy moving when elevating the gun.
The third picture is C-turret in its place on the ship, with this time the underwatership already attached.

Hmmm I think that means he is the worst at being bad so that means he is good?

Go Bill Go!

ps. Love cutaway drawings... love to see how this works out.

:-o

Fabulous! What an amazing build! Went back and reviewed all the pics.... What great artistry! Love models of the big ships, and to see the interior is like Christmas! Thanks!!!

John,

That is fantastic! You really bring the IJN dreadnought to life with the cut-away element.

How did you do your blast bags on the primary guns? That is a intersting look you have on them. It almost looks like shaped heat-shrink or something... That particular aspect of ships gives me difficulties.

Man, this is one of the BEST works I've ever seen around. My respect to you, your skills and your patience. I think this is a good candidate for the Photo of the Year 2007. Rickstef, please, take note about it

Hello eibwarrior,

The Gun blast bags are made from and with ModPodge.
First I made the rough back-up of the bags from cardboard, this is the form you like to give the bags, and then fill it up and sculpt with ModPodge in several layers, after a 24 hour drying time it can be painted (in my case Humbrol Paint) with a light grey paint.

Greetings

John.
