I put on all details that can not be broken due to careless handling :)

Looking really good so far Chris!!
I really like the weathering!!

Great job so far, Chris. I just put an order through papermodelstore.com for this one (plus a sub and a chopper). Now you get to de-bug this one for me. :thumb:

Looking good there Chris, a nice clean build so far.

Can you give us some info on what camera and settings you are using? Your pics look great and seem to be taken in a dark room. I haven't quite found the right balance yet, between camera settings, lighting and distance from subject etc.

nikon coolpix, under both a compact flourescent and a standard incadescant. Usually the flash doesnt go off unless I zoom way in. :) glad you like them. Oh I am using auto so the camera pics the settings!
Chris

Thanks... I think maybe I'm messing with the settings a little too much, only cos there's so many of them to play with. It seems that all I may need is some decent lighting.

Not to mention more time to spend on the model... haven't been able to touch mine for a few days now, and only having the time to look at other people's builds is starting to give me withdrawals. :p

rough day in build land :(

Went down to put the forward armor plating together. The formers came out too close together and I could not get enough angle to make the triangular fold. (pics another day) I tried to trim the formers down and cut through the damn skin. got it back together tolerably well but its not great. Then I was going to add some fiddly bits I skipped over before because I wanted to get the rest of the skin on first and found my son had gotten into them - missing several. GOing to have to try and scratch build them.

I think I need a nap.

The Joy of fatherhood!

Been there had it happen.

Just remeber they grow up real fast and then everything Dad does is werd (teens are strange animals)

So, Chris, is that a show stopper? I just received mine in the mail today and it looks great. But they must be joking...they print the instruction diagrams on the back of the formers page? :curse::cry:

My diagrams were all on separate pages.... everything was printed one sides so I am not sure if yo got the same thing? I got things together ok and will be continuing on :) got a pretty big honey do list (with thanksgiving tomorrow) and dont know if I will get to model today or not... :(

Even if that's the case it shouldn't be too difficult to copy the formers yourself or at a copy shop. Even if it's too oversized to do a single copy, it's just B&W, so you can split it into as many copies as you need to make sure you get a whole copy of each former.

Oh dear lord. I got looking at it again and the TWO pages became unstuck from each other. sign1

This does not bode well for me.

Heh heh, been there done that! Now if you hadnt asked you probably would have just gotten mad and put it away never to be seen again! :D
Chris

You gonna build it now? If you are we can do a buddy build thread like Johnny and Russell are :D course you will probably finish way before me but thats ok!

Actually, I got three models:

And seeing as how these are my first commercial models, and therefore uber detailed, I'm gonna start with the Archerfish sub. It's only 2 pages of parts and much less detailed. I gotta ease into this slowly lest I screw EVERYTHING up. :thumb:

So for now you're on your own. Get building :whip1:

PS. Yes, that's my sock on the floor. I just got home from work and the dogs were barking. :)

And they took off your sock?? HHAHAHAHAHAHAA funny dogs! What did they do tickle you til you fed them? :D

Almost done with the list - I think I will get an hour in on building!

Got some work done last night - took some pics but no time to upload. Soon I hope - times been short :(

Time? What is this time that you speak of? Your idea intrigues me and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. :thumb:

sorry to drag this slightly off topic, but I just saw that pic of the huey and had to comment...

It is mainly due to that model in particular that I finally got into card modeling, and it was thanks to this forum as well... I was browsing around and came across this forum the same week that fluthecrank's flymodel huey was pic of the week. I almost bought that as my first commercial kit but opted for the Maly apache instead.

From then on I have jumped in head first, and finally made the transition from card model collector to card modeler. :D

Ok, just had to get that out... how's the model going Chris?
